Energy And Metaphysics

Has today's New Age Metaphysics revealed a truth, offered an insight, or uncovered a dimension that is new, spectacular, or revolutionary? Many new agers think so. For instance, they argue that "quantum physics"—the study of what is smallest in physical reality—has shown that "energy" is the most basic constituent of reality. Since humans are also energy-based (especially the dynamic "energy in thoughts and the energy produced in thinking"), then the "energies of the universe and our own personal energies" should be able to and, in fact, do communicate/ interact; and they do so in ways that not only go beyond the five senses, but also transcend conventional space/time limitations. From this viewpoint, for example, our common sense understanding of past, present, and future are distortions of ultimate reality, and reflect human experience ONLY on a non-energy level. From the perspective of what I call "energy metaphysics," the fracturing of time into three tenses is a mistake, a gross fiction. In truth there is only the present!
Unfortunately, all of the top quantum physicists have stated, in unambiguous terms, that such claims are sheer fantasy, a pure fabrication of the naive imagination. But why should we believe that the physicists are always right? Maybe they are missing vital clues that, if discovered, could result in a radical paradigm shift! Even the greatest scientists (e.g., Newton and Einstein) have been dead-wrong about crucial aspects of physical reality.
For me, there is likely something to energy metaphysics, although it's equally likely that, at present, we have little or no understanding of what it could be. Such discoveries could easily be the substance of future scientific/cultural revolutions. For now, I recommend that we let our imaginations run freely to any idea or insight that seems truthful or pleasing—it keeps the creative juices flowing, a crucial process for all intellectually healthy individuals!!
