Jack Klugman’s Beautiful Spirit Shines Into His Ninth Decade!
The Hollywood Reporter interviewed Jack Klugman in honor of his 90th birthday. As a humble member of his fan club: Congratulations, Jack!
I first met Jack in 1991 through my dear friend and student, Shirley MacLaine. As a fellow South Philadelphian, Jack and I hit it off immediately.
He is a legendary actor who was stricken with cancer of the throat at the time, which resulted in one of his vocal cords being removed and replaced by a prosthetic—the result of which was a totally non-functional speaking voice. I was in the early stages of my voice-building career, and I was anxious to demonstrate the effectiveness of my system. Jack was the perfect candidate. Our work together brought his voice back with amazing success and merited some press attention for me. (See my Entertainment Tonight video, which features my work with Jack.)
Most importantly, Jack and I developed a deep friendship. To this day, Jack Klugman remains one of the most devoted friends and passionate spirits of all the students I have taught.
Best regards to my dear friend!
