The Singer's Chaotic Affair

A great singing voice is a chaotic affair to the extent that the forces of life and death do battle within its tonal colors, textures, and emotions. The "ecstasy" of the first kiss, the "agony" of the final break-up, the "glory" of renewed innocence, the "dread" of loss - are not simply human experiences that singers strive to give emotional meaning and poignancy to: they are, more broadly, creative and destructive "passions of the cosmos" channeled into the artistic mind, organized by the human heart, and then funneled through the singer's impassioned throat.
And what is the result? The great singer as a cosmic victory! As a victory of life over death, of ecstasy over heart-break, of renewed innocence over loss. The great singer may agonize over her misfortunes, but her spirit will never be extinguished, but instead, will rise again and again to celebrate a new day - to give sensational order to chaos, and to say "yes" to life from the beauty of her golden tones.
